FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I reserve my spot for class and what is the suggested contribution?
Please use the scheduling application under the schedule tab of the website (it’s also located on the home page) There is a login/register button at the top right corner inside the scheduling application. You register for an account to save your credit card information for easier check outs in the future, it allows you to book multiple classes, and you will receive notifications via email. We highly recommend registering. After you are signed up for class there is an “add-on” where you can add what you would like to contribute financially to the class. Our mission is to make yoga accessible to all, so contribute what feels in alignment with you.
How do I know if a class is hot or not?
All classes will have a heated or non-heated description in the title. A heated class will be between 90-95 degrees F.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
The studio has mats, blocks, straps, and blankets free to use. We do suggest bringing a water bottle and a towel if it’s a heated class. If you have any other comforts you would like to bring like a meditation cushion, a special prop, or your own mat feel free to bring those items.
Why do we have to be quiet in the studio?
The studio is meant to be a place for everyone to enjoy, so we ask that if you want to chat before or after class to do so in the lobby so that everyone can enjoy the peace of the studio. If you must speak please do so in a whisper so you don’t disturb your neighbor. This does not apply to workshops or events, only yoga and meditation classes.
Why do we have to clean up after class?
Our teachers take the time to set up the studio for you before class, so we ask that you help them tidy up after. We have dedicated mat cleaner and cloths to clean your mat located in the equipment hallway. Please wipe down your mat and blocks. We ask that you put the props away neatly on the shelf so they are ready for the next class.
What is open studio hours?
Open studio hours are a time for you to practice without being guided by an instructor. Teachers and studios might not always be there so the open studio is a time to allow yourself to lead yourself through your own practice and trust your inner guidance. You are welcome to practice however you like, we only ask that you be mindful of your neighbors and keep your practice within your mat space. We ask that you register for these hour long slots so that there is a guaranteed space available for you to practice. Contributions are accepted during open studio hours. There will be a staff member on site for any questions or guidance.
Why don’t you do class passes, monthly memberships or discounts?
Through many years of seeing many models of studios we have found that these types of offerings contribute to the inequality that we are trying to rise up from. When someone gets a discount for purchasing multiple classes it perpetuates the notion that if you have more money you get more of a discount. As far the monthly unlimited membership goes, you would need to come to 4-5 classes a week to be close to what a traditional monthly membership fee is. We believe that the sliding scale model gives everyone the opportunity to support our small studio, while also supporting their current situation. We are open to being flexible so please reach out to us if you have questions or a special circumstance.
Why does the schedule change and when does it come out?
We believe that life ebbs and flows, as does our schedules. Every month we ask our teachers what days and times work for them and their schedule and create a monthly calendar based off the requests of our teachers. This allows teachers to to have flexibility with their life and schedule. We keep our schedule booked out up to 2 weeks in advance so you as a student can also know when you can practice. While we don’t always have consistent weekly classes, we do have consistent change :)
